I put about 6 or 8 shrimp in the gumbo early along with the sausage to give it more of the shrimp flavor. To cut back on fat content, prepare this gumbo a little in advance and skim excess fat off the cooled soup. Reheat and serve with hot cooked rice. Recipe: Sausage and Shrimp Gumbo
