Stewed Beef with Mushrooms

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 to 2 pounds stew beef, cut in 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 2 cups water or beef broth
  • mushrooms, chopped (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbs. paprika
