  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs, mixed, thyme, basil,, marjoram, etc.
  • 1/2 salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste, Italian-style
  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling chicken broth
