Cook Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
- 3 cups cooked noodles
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups cooked diced chicken
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/3 cup buttered cracker crumbs or bread crumbs
- 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley, optional
Preparation:
Prepare white sauce. In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter; stir in flour until bubbly. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly. Cook, stirring, until sauce is thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
In a buttered 2-quart baking dish arrange layers of noodles, chicken, and white sauce. Top with buttered bread crumbs and parsley, if desired. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
Serves 4 to 6.
