By Diana Rattray, About.com

Recipe for pork chops in a ginger ale, ketchup, brown sugar sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup butter, divided
  • 4 to 6 pork chops, about 1 inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup ginger ale
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation:

Melt half the butter in a skillet over medium heat; add onions and saute until lightly browned. Remove onions to a 2-quart baking dish. In the same skillet, brown the pork chops in remaining butter. Place chops over onions in the baking dish. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Blend ketchup with flour to form a paste; add ginger ale and stir well. Pour ginger ale mixture over the pork chops; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake in a 350 degrees for about 1 hour or until chops are tender.
