Sweet Onion Casserole

Use Vidalia onions or your favorite sweet onions for this casserole recipe.

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound sweet onions, sliced into rings and separated (Vidalia or other type of sweet onions)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • paprika

Preparation:

Place onion slices in a medium saucepan; cover with water. Bring to a boil; boil for 1 minute. Drain onions; transfer to an 8-inch square baking dish. In a small bowl combine egg, cream, salt and pepper; pour mixture over onions. Sprinkle with cheese and paprika. Bake for 25 minutes at 350°.
Onion Casserole Recipe serves 6.
