INGREDIENTS:
PREPARATION:Combine molasses, shortening and sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; boil for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat; add baking soda and let cool.
Sift flour with spices and salt. Add the beaten eggs to the cooled molasses mixture; stir in sifted flour and spice mixture.
Roll small amounts of ginger cookie dough out on a lightly floured surface. Roll as thin as possible; cut with 2-inch cookie cutters. Bake ginger cookies at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 8 to 10 dozen ginger cookies.
