Ingredients:
- 1 chicken, cut up, or 6 chicken breast halves
- 2 cups water
- juice of 1 lime
- 1 large clove garlic
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 2 teaspoons salt
- dash pepper
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 2 chorizos, sliced, optional
Preparation:
Wash chicken in water with lime juice. Drain and dry on paper towels. Mash garlic with oregano, salt and pepper. Rub into chicken parts. Melt butter in a large heavy skillet. Add chicken and brown quickly on both sides. Add remaining ingredients. As soon as sugar has melted, turn to low and cover skillet; cook for 30 minutes. Uncover, turn chicken, and cook for about 25 to 30 minutes longer, or until chicken is tender.Sweet and sour chicken recipe serves 6.
