INGREDIENTS:
PREPARATION:Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add shortening, milk, and vanilla; beat on slow to medium speed of electric mixer for 2 minutes. Scrape sides and bottom of mixing bowl several times.
Beat in eggs and continue to beat for 2 minutes longer.
Spoon batter into a generously greased and floured 9x13x2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool and frost with caramel icing (below) or cream cheese icing. Easy Caramel Icing 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed 1/4 cup milk 2 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon vanilla
