Polish Sausage Stew

This easy stew is made with Polish sausage or kielbasa.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 can condensed cream of celery soup, undiluted
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 can or bag (24 to 32 ounces) sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
  • 1 1/2 pounds Polish sausage, cut in 2-inch pieces
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup shredded mild Cheddar or Jack cheese

PREPARATION:

In crockpot, combine the soup, sugar, and sauerkraut. Stir in sausage, potato, and onion. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours. Skim off excess fat; stir in cheese. Spoon into serving bowls and top with additional shredded cheese.
Polish sausage stew serves 6.
