Molasses Brownies

These molasses brownies include chopped nuts.

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2/3 cup Grandma's Molasses
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Preparation:

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Stir in molasses and vanilla. Beat in eggs. Sift together the flour and baking soda; add to first mixture, blending well. Stir in chopped nuts. Spread batter in two generously greased 9-inch square pans. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
Makes about 50 molasses brownies.
