By Diana Rattray, About.com

Tuna and cheese sandwiches are made in buns, wrapped in foil, then baked until hot.

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces cubed process American Cheddar cheese
  • 3 hard cooked eggs, chopped
  • 2 cans (7 ounces each) tuna, drained and flaked
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green pepper
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 3 tablespoons chopped pimiento-stuffed olives
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1/2 to 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 6 hamburger buns

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients, except hamburger buns. Spoon mixture between buttered, split hamburger buns. Wrap each bun in foil. Refrigerate until about 25 minutes before serving time. To serve, place wrapped tuna-cheese buns in a 300° oven and bake for about 15 minutes. Makes 6 tuna sandwiches.
