Cook Time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 packages active dry yeast
- 1 3/4 cup warm water
- 2/3 cup nonfat dry milk powder
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 1/2 cup whole bran cereal
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 3 1/2 to 4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
Preparation:
Combine honey, molasses and yeast in the warm water. Cover and let stand until foamy, about 10 minutes. Stir in milk powder, beaten eggs, oil, and 2 teaspoons salt. Blend in the oats, wheat germ, and cereal. Beat in whole wheat flour and 1 cup of the all-purpose flour. Stir in enough all-purpose flour to make a somewhat stiff dough. Transfer dough to a floured surface; knead for about 8 minutes. Cover and let rise until double. Halve dough; let rest 10 minutes. Shape dough into 2 loaves. Place in 2 greased 8x4x2-inch loaf pans. Cover and let rise until nearly double. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
