Red Cabbage

Red cabbage recipe is made with red cabbage, apple, butter, vinegar, onion, mustard, and currant jelly.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups shredded red cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tart apple, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 3 tablespoons currant jelly

Preparation:

Scald cabbage; drain. Add butter, sliced apple, sliced onion, seasonings, and boiling water. Let cook 8 to 10 minutes, or until cabbage is no longer crisp. Drain and add currant jelly.
Serves 6.
