Easy Spaghetti Sauce with Mushrooms

This spaghetti sauce recipe is made with tomatoes, mushrooms, onion, garlic, and basil, along with olive oil and other seasonings.

Cook Time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

  • 16 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) tomatoes
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried leaf basil
  • dash black pepper
  • dash cayenne pepper

Preparation:

In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-low heat; add mushrooms, onion, and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 8 to 10 minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, for about 50 minutes, or until desired consistency is reached. Serve with hot cooked spaghetti.
Serves 4 to 6.
