Chris's Brunswick Stew

By Diana Rattray, About.com

From Chris B.:
This is our family rendition of Brunswick Stew and always receives rave reviews.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Boston butt, cooked until tender, shredded w/visible fat removed
  • 1 can each: English peas, cream corn, whole kernel corn
  • 1 cup Hunt's catsup
  • 1 Tablespoon Tabasco sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Worchestershire sauce
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Water as needed to prevent sticking
  • *Optional: 1/2 c. dry spaghetti broken into thirds or small macaroni

Preparation:

Directions: Prepare Boston butt as described above (we pressure cook it). Add pork with corn, peas, catsup, tabasco, Worchestshire sauce and spaghetti, if desired. Simmer. After about 30 min. add salt and pepper to taste. As the stew thickens, add enough water to prevent sticking. Stir frequently. The longer it simmers the better it is. A great crockpot recipe too. (You may add more or less of the tabasco and Worcestershire to suit your taste.)
