recipe hall of fame cookbook From Quail Ridge, publishers of the "Best of the Best" state cookbooks, comes this wonderful cookbook, filled with 450 of the very best recipes. Editor Gwen McKee and her husband founded the Brandon, Mississippi publishing company, and co-editor Barbara Moseley has been part of the Quail Ridge family for more than 15 years. Often referred to as "the cookbook ladies," twice a year they pack their van and travel to a particular state. Not only do they scour the state for the very best recipes, they spend time researching and exploring the culture, the history and the people of each region. They talk to cooks, restaurant owners, publishers and families as they seek out the true flavors of the area.

"So in the final analysis, we and our readers voted with our taste buds--the ultimate way to determine that a recipe is among the Best of the Best of the Best and belonged in a Hall of Fame."
- Gwen McKee & Barbara Moseley
Along with many familiar recipes, titles include Melt in your Mouth Dinner Rolls, Baked Sweet Potatoes with Apricots, Creamy Grilled Potatoes, Southwest Orange-Chile Chicken with Black Beans, Chicken Breasts Eden Isle, Snapper with Sour Cream, Working Man's Roast, Smothered Steak Daufuskie Style, Gulf Shrimp Divine, Mint Julep Kisses, Apricot Butter Bars, Margarita Pie, Hot Brownie with Fudge Sauce, and the list goes on.

The recipes are tried and true regional and family favorites; most are uncomplicated and perfect for the home cook. This book would be a wonderful addition to anyone's American cookbook collection.
