Pretzels

A recipe for pretzels, shared by Sharon.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 Tsp Yeast
  • 1/2 Tsp Brown Sugar
  • Dash of Salt
  • 1 1/2 Cups Water
  • 4 Cups bread flour
  • .
  • Honey Butter:
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 8 ounces butter, melted

Preparation:

Grease baking sheet. Mix yeast, brown sugar, salt, and water; let stand 5 minutes. Add 4 cups bread flour. Knead well.
Let rise for about 1 hour.
Take a piece of dough and roll & shape into pretzel (roll into a rope, whatever size you prefer, pinch ends of rope then bring ends of rope to other side of circle). Dip in warm water with baking soda (2 teaspoons baking soda ,mixed with 2 cups warm water) Bake at 550 degrees for approximately 8 minutes. Mix honey and melted butter; brush over pretzels while still hot. Sprinkle with white & brown sugar (half & half).
