This old-fashioned apple cake is beaten with a wooden spoon. Thanks to Carol for sharing this cake.

Ingredients:
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cups oil
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups chopped apples
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cups chopped nuts
Preparation:
Sift together in bowl all the dry ingredients, add all the other ingredients at one time and mix with a woodenspoon (DO NOT use electric mixer) Grease and flour 9x13-inch baking pan. Pour in batter and bake at 350° for 55 to 60 minutes.
I'm not sure why you have to use a wooden spoon but I've always followed that rule just in case it would flop if an electric mixer was used. It is a pretty heavy batter and it totally delicious!
