Fried Apples

Serve these simple spiced fried apples with breakfast, as a dessert, or as a side dish to pork or ham.


  • 8 medium Granny Smith apples, chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg


Melt butter in a heavy skillet over medium-low heat. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sauté 15 to 20 minutes, or until apples are tender. Serve as a side dish for pork or with breakfast. Serves 6.
