Sweet and Sour Ham with Vegetables

A ham recipe with vegetables.

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 large onion, coarsely chopped
  • 4 medium potatoes, cut in chunks
  • 3 medium carrots, cut in chunks
  • 1 slice (1 to 1 1/2 pounds) fully cooked ham
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar

Preparation:

Cook onion and potatoes in a small amount of lightly salted water until tender, about 15 minutes; drain. Sprinkle ham with mustard, brown sugar and vinegar. Place ham in a shallow baking pan and place under the broiler about 4 inches from heat. Broil ham until browned; turn it over, spoon juices over ham and broil the other side until lightly browned. Put ham on serving platter; arrange vegetables around ham. Pour pan drippings over ham and vegetables.
Recipe for sweet sour ham serves 4.
