Sunrise Smoothies with Yogurt and Banana

This yogurt smoothie is naturally sweetened with dates, honey, and a banana.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 8 dates, cut up
  • 2 cups fat free yogurt, plain or vanilla
  • 1/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 medium banana, cut in chunks

Preparation:

A few hours or the night before, boil water with dates for 3 minutes. Cover and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours or overnight.

In blender, combine yogurt, orange juice concentrate, honey, vanilla, bananas and the date mixture; process until well blended, 30 to 60 seconds. Serve immediately.
Serves 2.
