Beer Cheese Bread

User Rating 4.5 Star Rating (5 Reviews)

Serve this flavorful beer cheese bread with a big bowl of chili or beef stew.

  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 10 ounces beer, at room temperature
  • 4 ounces shredded or diced processed American cheese
  • 4 ounces shredded or diced Monterey Jack cheese

On stovetop or in microwave, heat beer and American cheese together until just warm. Cheese doesn't have to melt. Stir to blend. Transfer mixture to the bread machine pan. If it seems too hot, let it cool to warm. Add remaining ingredients, select white bread or basic setting, and push start.
Makes a 1 1/2-pound loaf.

Beer Cheese Bread, Member denisee1953

This came out quite well-- I did adjust the flour to about 1/2 to 3/4 cup more, as the recipe was very wet-- My tip for perfect bread machine bread is that when the machine starts mixing- I aslo mix with a wooden spoon- all the ingredients- adding flour if too wet / or a small amout of warm water at a time -***until I get a soft warm ball that bumps around the pan and I add small amount of flour so the ball doesn't stick to the paddle *** I close the lid and let machine do it's thing--- I have perfect bread. This rose perfectly- and smelled great- I used 1/2 cup one cheese- combination finelly shredded kraft mexician blend-
