- 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon water
- 1 large egg
- 2 1/2 cups bread flour
- 1 cup blue cornmeal
- 2 tablespoons softened butter
- 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons yeast, active dry
Put water and egg mixture, bread flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, butter, and yeast in the bread machine in the order suggested by bread machine manufacturer.
Bake on basic bread setting, medium crust.When the bread is about halfway into the kneading cycle, check for consistency. Add small amounts of water or flour, as needed to make a smooth and not-too-wet dough.
