Caramel sauce is delicious!December 12, 2009By tj1226
"I needed caramel sauce for a pie recipe and bought the wrong type at the store. Since I didn't want to make another trip to the grocery, I decided to look for a recipe. I found many recipes for caramel sauce but didn't have the 1 1/2 cups of cream on hand that they all called for. When I found this recipe, I thought since it didn't call but for 2 T. cream, I would substitute evaporated milk....which I did. After cooking, the sauce is thick and creamy and the taste reminds me of a pecan praline that my Mom used to make. I would absolutely recommend this recipe for anyone who needs a caramel sauce for ice cream, pies or other desserts! In fact, I will never buy commercially prepared caramel sauce again - this recipe won me over! And, it is VERY easy and quick to make."
