Chocolate Fudge Brownies

Chocolate brownies with butter and walnuts.

Cook Time: 45 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation:

Cream 1/2 cup butter with sugar. Add eggs; beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla. Melt remaining 1/2 cup butter with chocolate; cool and beat into creamed mixture. Stir in flour, salt, and nuts; blend well. Pour batter into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Cool in pan.

Great recipe...make cook time adjustment, Member T.Rawlings

I have made these brownies 4 times now, each time trying the adjustments suggested by previous reviewers. I have discovered that the only adjustment necessary is the cook time...reduce from 45 min to 35-38 min. This yielded a deliciously moist brownie with great chocolate flavour. Note: I will admit that I do find it a tad too sweet, however when I reduced the amount of sugar it turned into an inedible dry clump. Would love suggestions on how to reduce sugar content without sacrificing the moistness.
