Fudge Brownies

Fudge brownies with melted chocolate chips and vanilla and chopped walnuts.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

PREPARATION:

Melt shortening and chocolate together in a saucepan; cool. Add vanilla and sugar; mix well. Add eggs one at a time; beat well after each addition. Sift flour and salt together; stir in nuts. Add flour and nut mixture to first mixture, blending well. Spread in greased and floured 8-inch square pan.
Bake fudge brownies at 325° for about 30 to 35 minutes. Cut into squares while warm.
