Large Photo of Brownies
- 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate
- 4 ounces butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Melt chocolate and butter in a bowl or pan over simmering water, stirring until smooth and warm.
In a mixing bowl with an electric mixer, beat eggs with salt and sugar and vanilla until the mixture is a light and thickened. Stir in the melted chocolate and butter mixture then fold in the flour and walnuts.
Bake for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out nearly clean when inserted in the center.
