Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
- Filling:
- 1 (15-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (12-oz) package (2 cups) semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation:
In heavy saucepan over low heat, combine sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons butter, and 1/2 teaspoon salt, stirring until melted and smooth. Stir in vanilla and pecans or walnuts.
Spread filling mixture over bottom crust in baking pan then crumble remaining oat mixture over the top. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool before cutting into squares.
