Delicious brown sugar brownies with butterscotch and chocolate chips.

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 375°. Grease a 13x9x2-inch baking pan and lightly dust with flour.

Into a bowl, sift flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a mixing bowl, beat together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each addition. Beat in evaporated milk and vanilla.

With mixer at low speed, beat in sifted dry ingredients, a little at a time, until well blended. Fold in chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and chopped nuts.

Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake at 375° for about 25 minutes, or until blondies are golden brown. A toothpick inserted in center should come out almost clean. Cool blondies completely in pan on rack. Cut blondies into squares to serve.

Makes about 24 blondies.

"I enjoyed this rendition of blondies very much. Where some recipes produce very dense, gooey bars, these are light, fluffy and cooked through. I consider myself a blondies expert and these are lovely!"
