- 1 stick (4 ounces) butter, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 stick (4 ounces) butter
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk, (14-ounce)
- 1/4 cup pecans
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 ounces German sweet chocolate, melted in 1 Tb water
Preheat the oven to 350° F. Butter an 8-inch square baking pan.
Cream 4 ounces of softened butter with 1/4 cup sugar. Blend in flour. Spread into a buttered 8-inch square pan; bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes, until firm and lightly browned around the edges.
Combine 4 ounces butter, 2 tablespoons sugar, condensed milk, and pecans in a small saucepan; cook, stirring, until mixture leaves the sides of the pan. Stir in vanilla.
Pour the condensed milk mixture over shortbread;cool.
Spread melted chocolate over the top; cool. Cut in squares.
