Anise Cookies

Anise cookie recipe.

Cook Time: 12 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 3 eggs
  • a few drops of anise oil or 1 teaspoon anise seeds
  • 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • Toasted aniseeds for sprinkling

Preparation:

Cream butter with sugar; beat in eggs one at a time. Blend in anise oil then stir in flour. Drop from teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet; sprinkle with toasted anise seeds or aniseeds. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes. Tops will be pale but bottoms will be golden brown. Keep in an airtight container for several days before eating. Makes about 48 anise cookies.
