Hazelnut Butter Balls - Hazelnut Cookies

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups finely chopped hazelnuts or filberts

Preparation:

Sift flour, sugar, and salt together; work in butter and vanilla. Add 2 cups finely chopped hazelnuts; mix well. Shape dough into 1/2-inch balls. Roll half of the balls in remaining hazelnuts; place on greased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for about 25 to 30 minutes. Roll plain half of the hazelnut cookies in sifted confectioners' sugar while still warm.
Makes about 5 dozen hazelnut cookies.
