Buttery Tea Cakes

Recipe for buttery tea cakes, traditional cookies made with vanilla and butter.

Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
2/3 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups flour

Preparation:

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla; mix well. Stir in flour; refrigerate until chilled and easier to handle. Roll out on a floured board to 1/2-inch thick, adding more flour if necessary. Cut into shapes; place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
Makes 2 to 3 dozen.

I don't know how this recipe was successful for anyone. I tried making these tea cakes following the recipe and the dough was too sticky to do anything with. I couldn't roll it out without it sticking to my rolling pin, even after I added an extra three cups of flour to the dough AND putting flour all over the rolling pin. I ended up having to throw the dough away. I will definitely not make these again, and unless you want to go through hell to make them, I don't suggest this recipe to anyone else.
