Cheesecakes are notorious for developing cracks and sunken areas, even if you've followed all of the advice to keep the top perfect. One way to hide cracks is to spread a layer of sweetened sour cream over the entire surface, then decorate with sliced soft fruit or berries, chocolate shavings, or chopped or slivered nuts. If the cheesecake has sunken a bit but isn't a complete failure, fill the indentation with whipped topping and top that with fruit.
