Cheese Chowder with Bacon

Cheese chowder recipe is a basic chowder with bacon, onion, milk, and American cheese, along with celery and other seasonings.

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup shredded process American cheese

Preparation:

Cook bacon just until crisp; add onions and celery and cook until tender. Stir in flour and salt. Gradually add milk. Cook over very low heat until smooth and thickened, about 10 minutes. Stir frequently. Add cheese and stir until melted.
Serves 4
