A cake mix makes this cherry cake a snap to prepare with cherry pie filling. The pie filling is swirled through the cake batter before baking.

  • 1 package yellow cake mix (pudding-type)
  • oil and eggs as called for on cake mix package
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
  • powdered sugar, sifted

Prepare cake mix according to package directions, using oil or butter and eggs, and reducing the water to 1/2 cup. Spread batter into a greased and floured 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Spoon cherry pie filling evenly over the batter, then swirl into the batter just enough to give a marbled effect.

Bake cake at 350° for 55 to 60 minutes, until cake bounces back when lightly touched. Cool and sprinkle with sifted powdered sugar. Cherry cake serves 12.

Easy Cherry Cake, Member ChefRoach

I fixed this today and it was so easy as well as so good. It is definately a recipe to play around with and tweek to one's own liking and to one' own appeal. I find it a keeper just the way it is. Here's a picture of it before I dusted it with powdered sugar. Thank for sharing the recipe with everyone.
