Chicken Bake With Buttered Noodles

Use low or reduced fat ingredients to lighten this delicious casserole. This is a popular one dish casserole recipe, perfect for a busy day family meal or potluck. Serve this chicken and noodle casserole with a green salad or sliced tomatoes for a hearty meal.


  • 1/2 cup chopped dried beef
  • 8 to 12 chicken thighs, skin removed
  • 4 to 6 slices bacon
  • 1 small package (3 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • fresh chopped parsley
  • hot cooked noodles


Sprinkle dried beef into a lightly buttered 3-quart baking dish. Arrange chicken things in casserole, meaty side up. Top each chicken thigh with 1/2 slice of bacon. Combine cream cheese, soups, and sour cream; beat until well blended then pour over the chicken. Cover with foil or lid and bake at 325° for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, until chicken is tender. Uncover, sprinkle with parsley, and cook for 20 to 30 minutes longer. Serve with hot cooked noodles.
Serves 4 to 6.

My husband LOVES this dish.. My mom has been cooking this for years...We serve it with rice to make a more elegant presentation. I have even used this for dinner parties. It is so easy and so unique.
