use the right amount of ingredients, Member sourherncook

These are good cookies when done right. I use 4 squares of unsweetened chocolate. Eliminate the brown sugar and use real butter (1 cup) instead of shortening. I add 3 cups flour and sift it along with 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. baking soda and 1/2 tsp salt. Don't use sour milk but buttermilk. Alternate the flour mixture in fourths with the buttermilk in thirds. I also use 3 eggs that are well beaten in thirds. This dividing just helps all this get mixed really nice. I then use any type of chocolate frosting and then keep a couple of chopped walnuts and sprinkle on top.
