Chocolate Candy Nests

Use as holders for candy coated chocolate candies, jelly beans, red hots, conversation hearts, or other small candies.

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces butter (1 stick)
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 2 1/2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut

Preparation:

Combine butter, evaporated milk, sugar and cocoa; bring to a full rolling boil. Continue to boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Drop by heaping tablespoons onto waxed paper. While candy is still warm and is beginning to set up, make an indentation in each "nest." When firm and dry, use as "nests" for candy coated candies, jelly beans, or conversation hearts, or other small candies. Layer in an airtight container between sheets of waxed paper.
