Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup vegetable shortening
Preparation:
Makes 8 cups, or enough for 4 one-pint jars yielding 4 batches of brownies. Give with directions below.
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking
pan.
In a medium bowl, combine 2 cups brownie mix with 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon
vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Stir until just moistened.
Spread in prepared pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until center is set.
Makes 16 brownies.
