Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 3 ounces red or black caviar, 1 teaspoon reserved for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried dillweed or 1 tablespoon fresh chopped dill
  • 2 teaspoons purple onion, finely diced
  • 1 large egg, hard boiled, finely chopped
  • a little more chopped purple onion or onion ring for garnish

Preparation:

Beat the cream cheese to a smooth consistency. Blend in the sour cream and add caviar, lemon juice, dillweed, and diced onion, blending well. Cover and chill. Just before serving, garnish with the chopped egg, small amount of chopped purple onion or an onion ring, and the reserved spoonful of caviar. Makes about 1 1/2 cups of dip.
