Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sour cream or softened cream cheese
  • 4 thinly sliced green onions
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives, divided
  • 2 to 3 ounces caviar, red salmon or black lumpfish, drained and carefully rinsed

Preparation:

Mix sour cream, sliced green onions, lemon juice, and all but 1 teaspoon of the chopped chives in a medium bowl. Gently fold in all but 1 tablespoon of the caviar. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Refrigerate reserved caviar and chives separately. When ready to serve, transfer dip to serving bowl and sprinkle with remaining teaspoon chives and 1 tablespoon caviar.
Makes about 2 1/2 cups.
