Ingredients:
- 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 4 small cloves garlic, crushed and finely minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried leaf basil
- 1/3 cup grated Romano or Parmesan cheese
- 12 small clams
- 1/3 cup melted butter
Preparation:
In bowl combine bread crumbs, the garlic, basil and Romano cheese. Mix thoroughly. Shuck the clams, loosening clam but leaving in the shell. Discard other half of shells. Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the clams, covering well. Drizzle a few drops of butter on top of bread crumb mixture. Broil about 4 inches from heat until clams are cooked and topping is slightly toasted, about 3 to 5 minutes.
