- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 5 tablespoons butter or shortening
- 1 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2/3 cup dark or light brown sugar
In another bowl, cream together the 4 tablespoons of butter and the brown sugar. Place a heaping teaspoon of brown sugar mixture in each section of greased muffin tins, spreading evenly to make a lining of brown sugar for each muffin cup.
Drop a generous spoonful of biscuit dough into each muffin cup. Bake at 350° for about 20 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove from pan immediately and serve hot.
Makes about a dozen biscuits.
