Absolutely the best cole-slaw I've had!, Member Jill_DZines

This is the best cole-slaw I've had anywhere. Very creamy and delicious! I used a package of the pre-shredded cabbage (cole-slaw mix). The mix was on sale so I had to find a recipe, and specifically looked for one that had half-and-half in it, as my MIL had made a cole-slaw with H&H, which was fabulous - I believe this must be the same recipe! SO good! I subbed about 1/2 tsp. onion salt (in place of 1/8 tsp onion powder) as I didn't have onion powder. I also added 1 & 1/2 tsp. poppy seeds, as we like them in/on cole-slaw. (you can also just sprinkle some poppy seeds on top right before serving, but it is just as good either way). Though this is delicious as soon as it's chilled, it's even better after the flavors blend overnight or for several hours. The only bad thing about this recipe is that it is very high-fat, with the mayo, oil, and half-&-half. I think next time I make it I'm going to try reducing the oil and half-and-half by about 40% or so. When made with the packaged cole-slaw mix, there is plenty of extra liquid, so I think it would still be just as good.
