By Diana Rattray, About.com

This recipe for turnover cookies is made with your favorite jam, jelly, or preserves, as filling in cream cheese pastry.

Ingredients:

  • 3 ounces cream cheese, may use 1/3 less fat
  • 1 stick (4oz) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • pinch salt
  • jam, jelly, or preserves, your favorite

Preparation:

Cream the cream cheese and butter together. Blend in flour and salt. Roll out on a floured surface and cut out circles with a biscuit or cookie cutter. Place a dab of preserves or jam in the center of each cookie. Fold over and press edges together with a fork. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for about 10 to 15 minutes.
When cool, drizzle with icing if desired.

Makes about 16 to 20 cookies.
