Easy Cranberry Sauce

Easy Cranberry Sauce

Diana Rattray
This cranberry sauce is quick and easy to prepare and cook. Spice this cranberry sauce with a dash of cinnamon or add some freshly grated orange zest.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (12 ounces) fresh or fresh frozen cranberries
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest, optional
  • dash cinnamon, optional

Preparation:

Rinse and pick over cranberries; set aside.

In a medium saucepan, bring the sugars and orange juice to a boil and cook, stirring, until sugars are dissolved. Add the cranberries and orange zest or cinnamon and bring back to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cranberries are popping.
Makes about 2 cups.
