Tangy Slow Cooker Beef Brisket

Crockpot beef brisket recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 beef brisket, about 5 pounds
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons liquid smoke
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce, reduced sodium
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • ground cayenne pepper or hot sauce, to taste
  • 1/3 cup light or dark corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 6 ounces lemon-lime soft drink, or ginger ale

Preparation:

Trim brisket of all visible fat; place in slow cooker. In a medium-size bowl, combine remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour over brisket. Cook on high heat for 2 hours, or until simmering. Turn heat to low and cook for 7 to 9 hours.
Serves 12 to 15

"I'll admit I halved the soy sauce and left out the corn syrup but the sauce was/is terrific and the brisket fell apart it was so tender. It's simple to put together; I'll do this one again."
