Cowboy Stew

A crockpot bean stew recipe with ground beef and canned beans.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can (15 ounces) chili beans
  • 1 can (15 ounces) pork & beans
  • 1 can (approx. 15 ounces) cream-style corn
  • 2 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce

Preparation:

In a skillet, brown ground beef, onion, and bell pepper together. Drain well. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker; cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours.
Serves 4.

"This stew was so good but I made a few revisions and it got even better!! I used steak instead of ground beef, and added smoked sausage. It was wonderful!!! I even passed on the recipe to my co-workers and now everyone is making it! When you use diced steak you don't even have to brown it first...just throw everything into the crockpot an come back 8 hours later and dinner is ready! One co worker added 1/2 cup of red wine too."
